Advanced Life Support or (ALS) is defined as: performing endotracheal
intubation and the administration of intravenous medications.
Advanced Life Support is applied in circumstances where paramedics have
to provide specialty clinical treatment to time critical patients.
ATI Advanced Life Support units are trained to provide critical care
for:
- Management of cardiac arrest,
- Intravenous therapy and drug administration,
- Advanced airway management including intubation, laryngeal mask, and
intravenous adrenaline,
- Analgesia and trauma,
- Trauma care,
- In-field triage criteria,
-Shock process and hypovolaemia care combines with perfusion status assessment
and fluid resuscitatio,.
The historical development of advanced life support (ALS) programs throughout
the world is rooted in the recognition that provision of ALS techniques
to patients within the first few hours of trauma and medical emergencies
can reduce death from preventable causes. International studies have conclusively
shown that death from trauma occurs most commonly within the first hour
of the injury and that many of these deaths occur from potentially preventable
causes. The incidence of these deaths can be reduced if the patient is
managed appropriately in the pre-hospital care phase and reaches definitive
care within the first one to two hours of the event. Studies have also
demonstrated the need for advanced life support in rural settings to potentially
reduce the number of preventable deaths from motor vehicle accidents.
Using ATI to handle your emergency needs, you can rest assurred that our
BLS and ALS teams will provide your customers and guests with the level
of attention they need, and the speed and efficiency required to prevent
further health risks.
